Beiking and Kooking

The real fruits of travelling with a tour group are the opportunities to pack as many non-corresponding activities, ranging from mildly to grotesquely touristy, in a single day as possible. Today I went on a 6 hour bike ride, checked out local villages along the Li-something river, and took part in a 3 hour Chinese cuisine class. Woo-ey.

Before the cooking we visited a local market to buy fresh ingredients for our pigeon creations. I must warn you that the following image is rather disturbing. I was appalled at the way the locals cage their dogs before killing them, electrocuting, air drying them, and eating them like jerky.

Best cooking tip of the evening. "Take cashews out so no burning, black no good for looking"

Aftermath.
